Igorre is the second single from Ayni, El Búho’s exciting new collaboration series, and brings together the British producer and Hungarian vocalist Дeva (Deva), aka Dorina Takács. The track began while Robin was travelling in the Spanish basque country (Igorre), inspired by the idea of the magic of mountains flowing down into a chaotic sea. Balkan folk samples are carried on the waves by a bubbling rhythm and rolling snares. This acts as the perfect foundation for Deva’s voice, going from a soft tapestry to powerful crashing waves of polyphony.

The collaboration came about after Robin’s numerous trips to play in Budapest, a friend recommending the music of one of the rising stars of the country’s folktronica scene. In 2022 she won the Music Moves Awards and released her debut album ‘Csillag’ (The Star) was inspired by Hungarian folk songs. Igorre’s lyrics are based on a traditional folk song talking of the juxtaposition of the flowers in the Spring time and and the loss of a loved one who has gone off to war not to return.
