On a trip to Puerto Rico, Nickodemus and Gabriele Poso faced a problem: no congas for the show. A promoter brought an old conga belonging to his father – so old they weren’t sure it would play. Chanting “La Conga Vieja,” the crowd pushed Gabriele to try it, ending the set with an unforgettable groove. Inspired by the moment, Nickodemus invited Puerto Rican poet Flaco Navaja and Cuban trumpeter Carlos Sarduy to help turn the story of resilience, migration, and memory into a dancefloor anthem.
